Get the information you need for your bond

If you’ve never been through the bail bond process, it can be a confusing and harrowing process. Let us guide you to a successful bond for your loved one so that you can get back to your life.
Q: What is bail?
A: Bail is a part of the system that allows an accused person to be temporarily released. The bond is posted to guarantee that the accused will appear in court.
Q: How does a bail bond work?
A: The Court system will set the bail amount. We will then provide you with a “bail bond” guaranteeing payment of full bail amount to the court if the defendant does not appear for all scheduled court appearances. Bail services will charge a “premium” of 10% of the total bail, plus any added fees for booking. NOTE: The premium paid to a bail bondsman is non-refundable.
Q: What is the difference between the bond amount and the premium?
A: The bail bond is the full amount of money set by the court for bail. The premium is the amount of money charged for the services of the bondsman.
Q: Who is the co-signer?
A: The co-signer is the person willing to be responsible for the defendant while he or she is out on bail.
Q: When does forfeiture take place?
A: Forfeiture takes place when a defendant fails to appear on his or her appointed court date. A warrant will be issued for the arrest of the defendant. It is possible for a bond to be reinstated by the defendant working with Chuck Telle Bail Bonds to report back to court for a new date.
Q: What is reinstatement?
A: Reinstatement is the simple process during which a defendant who missed a court date contacts the bondsman immediately to report to the court and set up a new court date. This process may result in additional fees for the defendant and co-signer.
Q: Is the premium paid to the bail bondsman refundable?
A: No, the premium is paid to the bondsman for services rendered and is non-refundable.
